The second day of the official visit of Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin to Indonesia unfolded with energy, vision, and a spirit of partnership.
The morning began at PT SICPA Peruri Securink, a unique joint venture between Swiss company SICPA and Indonesia’s state-owned Peruri. Walking through the viewing gallery of the state-of-the-art banknote production facility, the delegation witnessed firsthand the precision and sophistication behind the production of secure banknotes and the advanced inks that safeguard them. This visit was not just a showcase of technology, but a powerful reminder of the trust, expertise, and enduring collaboration between Switzerland and Indonesia.

The day continued with an Executive Luncheon hosted by SwissCham Indonesia, where CEOs and business leaders exchanged views on challenges and opportunities, reaffirming the value of resilient, forward-looking partnerships that benefit companies and communities alike.
The afternoon featured high-level meetings with H.E. Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, and Vice Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri. These conversations highlighted the importance of unlocking the full potential of the EFTA-Indonesia CEPA, ensuring that its benefits reach businesses on both sides, while also identifying new avenues for cooperation in areas ranging from renewable energy to digital innovation.
The day culminated with another special moment: the official launch of the SECO Economic Cooperation and Development Cooperation Programme 2025–2028 in Indonesia, followed by a dinner reception hosted by H.E. Rachmat Pambudy, Minister of National Development Planning (Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas Republic of Indonesia). Guests also toured a marketplace showcasing Swiss-supported initiatives already making an impact in Indonesia. This new programme cycle is a joint initiative to drive sustainable and inclusive economic growth, support the implementation of the free trade agreement, and contribute to the ambitions of Indonesia Emas 2045 and the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025–2029.
✨ A day both productive and inspiring—reflecting shared values, strong partnerships, and a commitment to turning opportunities into lasting progress for both countries.
