Defence Attachés (DA) operate at the intersection of diplomacy, strategy, economics and public relations. As their roles and missions are complex and evolving, it is important for new Defence Attachés to be properly prepared to take on new functions.
Following the success of the nine previous years’ training course, the GCSP organised for the tenth time, in collaboration with the Royal Jordanian National Defense College in Amman, a five days training course for military officers and civil servants involved in International Relations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Yesterday, I have opened the course with brigadier general Naser Al Maihrat.
Both brigadier general Naser Al Maihrat and myself held a short welcome message where we stressed the importance of Defence Attaches as trust builders in the current challenging context.
